The Ministry of Health is seeking to engage qualified applicants for the Annual Recruitment of Student Nurses for 2020 with the following requirements.

Student Nurse Program is a Full time training for a duration of three (3) years to become a Registered Nurse at Vaiola Hospital with a successful completion of the Advanced Diploma in Nursing Level 6 program.

Minimum Requirements Essential
  • Pacific Secondary School Certificate with a total aggregate of 14 or less in 4 subjects.
  • Compulsory to pass English grade=4 or less
  • Compulsory to pass Mathematics, Biology and another science subject
  • Pass the Tonga Form Six Certificate in 4 subjects
  • Compulsory to Pass in English, Mathematics, Biology and another science subject
  • Compulsory of or Complementary pass in the required subjects (English, Mathematics, Biology and another science subject) minimum B average in the Foundation Program of the University of the South Pacific
  • Form 7 Certificate with an average B pass and compulsory to pass English, Mathematics, Biology and another subject
Communication and Language Skills
  • Fluent in both English & Tonga languages. Write and document appropriately in English and Tonga.

Applications that are late, Incomplete and non-compliance to requirement listed above will NOT be considered for interview.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for interview and the Ministry will look after all applicants' submissions for only six (6) months. Therefore, for those who will not be successful, please make sure to collect your application forms from the HR office if still needed.
